The flow regulator is used in a standard infusion set or extension line. It must keep the flow rate of drug uniform in the unit time.
A good flow regulator could be a suitable alternative to the infusion pump.
The flow regulator could be in single scale or double scale. These are conformed to real capacity of flow (acceptable range of error: max ± 15%). The first scale from 5-250 mL/hr (with blue number) is calibrated for drugs with viscosity inferior or equal to 10% of glucose solution. The second scale from 5-200 mL/hr (with white number) is calibrated for drugs with viscosity in range 10-40% of glucose solution.
